A new row of T-Hangars,
planned for KLPR.
Just Plane Hangars, LLC plans to develop a new row of private, nested T-Hangars at Lorain County Regional Airport (KLPR) in Elyria, Ohio — designed for secure, taxiway-direct aircraft storage close to home.
Built by pilots who were tired of the waitlist.
Hangar space at KLPR has been scarce for years, and the wait for a T-hangar has often stretched into seasons, not months. Just Plane Hangars, LLC exists to fix that: we're aircraft owners and builders developing a new row of private T-hangars on airport property, from the ground up.
We're planning to handle the site work, the steel, the doors, and the utilities ourselves. The goal is a bay that's actually ready to fly out of — concrete floor, power, lighting, and a door that seals — without owners having to manage a construction project themselves.
We're local: based in Elyria, working directly with the airport and the Friends of Lorain County Airport community that already gathers here for events like the Discover Aviation Airplane & Car Show.
The plan, in dimensions.
Every bay is planned to the same baseline spec, sized to fit aircraft up to a Beechcraft 300 Super King Air. Bays are nested and alternate door orientation down the length of the building — five open to one side, five to the other — so the row makes efficient use of the site while every bay still gets direct, unobstructed access. The south end of the building also has space reserved for a restaurant, sized for a full kitchen and eat-in seating, spanning the full width of the building. Larger doors and deeper bays are being considered as we finalize Phase 1 siting.
| Item | Standard bay |
|---|---|
| Footprint | 60' wide × 50' deep, per bay — sized to fit aircraft up to a Beechcraft 300 Super King Air (54'6" wingspan, 43'10" length) |
| Layout | Nested T-hangars, alternating door orientation — 5 bays face east, 5 face west |
| Door | 58' electric bi-fold insulated door, 18' clear height, taxilane-facing |
| Floor | 6" reinforced concrete slab |
| Power | 110V/220V service, LED lighting |
| Access | Direct taxilane access on both sides of the building |
| Security | Perimeter fencing and gate, individually keyed bays |
| Restaurant | Space reserved at the south end of the building, full building width, sized for a kitchen and eat-in seating |
Electric bi-fold doors
Full-height, motor-operated doors sized to clear a Beechcraft 300 Super King Air with room to spare, sealed against the lake-effect winters we all know too well.
Poured concrete floors
No gravel, no oil stains soaking into dirt. A clean, level slab from day one.
Nested, alternating bays
Doors alternate down the row — five facing east, five facing west — so bays nest tail-to-tail and every one still opens straight onto its own taxilane.
KLPR — Lorain County Regional Airport
The development sits on the field at Lorain County Regional Airport in Elyria, Ohio — a quiet, well-maintained non-towered field with a long runway, an active based-aircraft community, and none of the congestion of the Cleveland Class B airports twenty minutes north.
- Non-towered field, CTAF-coordinated traffic
- Paved runway with full-length parallel taxiway
- Full-service 100LL Avgas and Jet-A, with and without additives, on the field
- Home to the Friends of Lorain County Airport non-profit and annual Discover Aviation Airplane & Car Show
- Easy road access from Route 57 and I-90
KLPR also has an active tenant community, including MRK Aviation, Metro Health Life Flight, Zone Aviation, Discover Aviation Flying Club, Ohio Flight Center, Essco Aircraft, Skysurance, the Civil Air Patrol's Lorain County Composite Squadron, and NEOEx Systems, a liquid-hydrogen drone technology company.
